On March 19, Wilderness Ministries Inc. was given approval to operate a specialty FM station at Nipawin that would broadcast Christian music. The station would operate on a frequency of 104.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 200 watts. Antenna height would be 372 metres. The station would broadcast a minimum of 63 hours per week of local station-produced programming, including some live programming on weekday mornings. Wilderness was a not-for-profit organization.
Wilderness Ministries Inc. received permission on November 19 to increase antenna height and relocate the transmitter. The original transmitter site became unavailable and an alternative location was required.
CIOT-FM “Lighthouse FM – The Gospel Station” signed on the air.
On November 30, the CRTC renewed the licence for the English-language specialty radio station CIOT-FM Nipawin from 1 December 2010 to 31 August 2014. This short-term licence renewal would enable the Commission to review, at an earlier date, the license's compliance with the Radio Regulations, 1986 and its conditions of licence.
