CISF-FM, Pulse FM 107.7, Surrey

South Fraser Broadcasting Inc.

On August 6, the CRTC approved an application by South Fraser Broadcasting Inc. for a broadcasting licence to operate a new English-language commercial FM radio station to serve Surrey. It would broadcast on a frequency of 107.7 MHz (channel 299A) with an average effective radiated power of 1,066 watts (maximum ERP of 2,500 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 132.4 metres). The program format would be Blended mainstream Adult Contemporary, gold-based Adult Contemporary and Contemporary Triple A with a target audience of adults 18‑64 years of age (core audience of women aged 25‑54). The new station would offer 110 hours of local programming per broadcast week. The licence would expire August 31, 2020.


CISF-FM (to be known on air as PULSE) began testing December 18.


In June, CISF received approval to operate in HD. CISF-FM-HD1 would offer an AC-Talk format while CISF-FM-HD2 would present South Asian programming.

In November, CISF began broadcasting in HD. A simulcast of CISF was on HD1 while HD2 offered South Asian programming.
