On March 2, the CRTC approved applications by La Radio touristique de Québec inc. for broadcasting licences to operate low-power, English- and French-language tourist FM radio programming undertakings in Québec. The stations would broadcast tourist information consisting of pre-recorded messages pertaining to tourist attractions and activities in the Québec City region. The English-language station would operate at 89.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 16 watts. The French-language station would operate at 90.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 16 watts. The licences would expire August 31, 2012.
The stations signed on the air.
On August 26, the CRTC approved the application to change the authorized contours of CJNG-FM by increasing the average ERP from 12.7 watts to 20.4 watts and by decreasing the antenna height.
On November 25, the CRTC approved a power increase for CJNG-FM from 20 to 419 watts (100 to 1,000 watts maximum ERP). Antenna height would also be raised.
On September 17, the CRTC approved the application by Mass-Média Capitale inc. to relocate CJNG-FM's antenna, decrease the average ERP from 419 to 87 watts and the maximum ERP from 1,000 to 200 watts and decrease antenna height. The changes were necessary because the land and building on which CJNG had been using were recently sold and were no longer available.
