On October 23, the CRTC approved an application by Radio Zenon Park Inc. to operate an English and French-language developmental community FM radio station in Zenon Park. ZPI indicated that the new station would broadcast 126 hours of programming during each broadcast week. The programming would include music, discussions, news, community announcements, local hockey games, special events and religious services. The station would operate at 102.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 5.4 watts. The licence would expire October 23, 2006.
CKZP-FM signed on the air.
