Transplant

On June 11th 2019, CTV and NBC Universal International Studios, together with Montréal-based producer Sphère Média Plus, announced  that production had begun on Transplant,  a new one-hour Canadian television medical drama series. The series premiered on CTV on February 26, 2020. 

Transplant told the story of Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq), a Syrian doctor with skills in emergency medicine, who fled his native Syria with his younger sister Amira. With the hope of returning to his career in medicine,  Bash and Amira together had to struggle to build a new life in Canada while managing the challenges that came with living in a new country. 

Other members of the cast included Laurence Leboeuf (19-2) as Magalie “Mags” Leblanc, an ER resident specializing in patient care; and John Hanna), as Jed Bishop, the hospital’s chief of the emergency department. Others in the cast included Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson,  Sirena Gulamgaus, Linda Smith, Torri Higginson and Grace Lynn Kung.
